iris is an emerging artist whose work draws inspiration from the urban nature surrounding her east london home. exploring the local marshes, waterways, wetlands and parks, she captures fleeting moments of light and tranquillity, exploring a shared sense of recognition, where familiar landscapes become intertwined with individual memories. through her work, iris draws our attention back to the quiet beauty of everyday city life.

about the series st james park is a series of three limited-edition prints, inspired by the shifting light and natural beauty of a small local park in walthamstow. iris has returned to st james park hundreds of times, observing how it presents itself differently with every visit. tall trees frame and enclose its pathways, while changing light filters through the leaves, transforming familiar surroundings into an immersive landscape. across the three works, iris captures distinct moments in the park, using pastel to translate the softness, luminosity and atmosphere of these encounters. rooted in iris’s wider exploration of urban nature, the series reflects on the relationship between landscape and our inner world. familiar places shift with the light, the weather and our own state of mind; through these works, the park becomes both a physical landscape and an emotional one.
